Thanks Lara.

Yes Judith - how about a pic of work to date?

Deecee, a second birthday celebration sounds like just the thing!

I hadn't thought of taking a picture of what I had completed to date. When I read your requests I got right up and did it! They are very colorful! I do plan to add the 'star' effect around them so I think they will blend together.

Thanks for your comments! Did I say that I am in the 'making more squares' mood!

.........and another great block Judith. Now please tell me that you stay at home and sew all day so I don't feel so unproductive.

Hi Irene - have you made any decisions about your next step with your quilt?

Hi Decee,
I really miss our weekly chats on this message board. I haven't decided what to do with my blocks yet. I'm traveling right now so that's my excuse for putting it off. We're visiting our youngest son right now, will visit our daughter for two weeks after that, and then our oldest son for a week the end of October. Then, of course, our Thanksgiving holiday will be here and then Christmas. I think that the excuses will carry me through January 2012 or so, haha. How about you? Have you joined any other exciting quilt-alongs? I really loved this one.
Hugs,
Irene

I think until the House BOM and AOTH are a bit more under control I need to not look at what else is available. :D :D

Visiting is always a good excuse for not getting anything else done but I hope you have plenty of hand sewing to keep you occupied during all your travels if you are travelling by car. I expect you will be otherwise pleasantly occupied during your visits. Are your children spread around the country?

Yes, my children are spread across the United States and across 4 time zones. My daughter is in the Pacific Time Zone, we and my parents are in the Mountain Time Zone, my youngest son is in Central Time Zone and my oldest son in in Eastern Time Zone. We only travel by car when we visit our youngest son since it is only a 6-hour drive. We fly to see the others. Where are your children?

That's a lot of distance to cover to visit everyone Irene.

I complain because my daughter is a 1½ hour drive away! With us all working it does make finding visiting time difficult though. She is expecting her first baby in October so I may have to do a bit more frequent travelling.

My son lives 5 minutes away - which is wonderful - so I get to see their new baby whenever I like.
