My husband has found his Scottish roots and sports a kilt on occasion. When someone asks him what is worn under his kilt, he tells them that NOTHING is WORN - it is all in perfect working order. lol

When a woman asks what he wears under the kilt, he answers: Same as you - hose and shoes. lol

    He is pretty funny.

In North Carolina we do have our own teeth, although I do have a neighbor who had bad teeth and pulled out the bad ones himself with pliers...no joke, very gross! Other than that, we do keep our mouths healthy. We don't all hang rebel flags. We are very big college basketball fans (GO DUKE!!!) Although I am a big fan of Paula Deen, we do not put a stick of butter in all of our southern dishes. We have great colleges. And last but not least, we have southern hospitality!

I knew a Scotsman in college. Someone asked him what he wore under his kilt so he lifted the hem and showed us all. A blue ribbon tied exactly where you think!

I think it is rude to continue sterotypes about other countries or states. There are people everywhere who are uninformed about geography, current events, politics, or uneducated...it is not the whole population. Just because you have been treated rudely by one or two people from a particular state or country, does not mean the entire population is like that.

Not all of speak with a drawl (though I probably do!). And typically "movie" southern accents are horribly inaccurate!!

I think education is very important here and my public school education was excellent. It is true though if there is a disaster the news crew is certain to find a toothless, bedraggled and generally pitiful specimin of humanity to represent us. Does that happen in your state?
West Virginia = toothless, uneducated idiots that burn couches at every sporting event win.

Not true -- we are "behind" the times in many ways - but that allows me to trust my neighbors, smile at strangers, and relax as opposed to when I lived in Orlando Florida.

Generally - I like it here, good people, educated people, and nice people. (who have all their teeth!)

    =)

and yes -- if there is a news camera within 500 yards, the biggest idiot in a cut-off shirt and greasy hair will be selected for the interview
    You are so right

    In Arkansas:

    1. We are not all hillbillies
    2. We do not all talk slow
    3. We are not all barefoot
    4. We do not marry our siblings or first cousins
    5. We do not eat roadkill or possums
