My sewing room is in our unfinished basement with boxes and stuff everyone. Somewhere a mouse has met his maker and has left me with a raunchy odor - can't find his remains. How can I get rid of that smell? It's everywhere - Christmas here tomorrow :!:

You need to find the remains and dispose of them. Disinfect the area and sorry to say this...cardboard absorbs odors and the smell is probably going to linger because of that.

It's probably too late now, but get "Bright Air" odor eliminator from Dollar General. Buy a few of them, they are cheap. Put out a few in the basement, and the house just in case the odor migrates.

I cleaned up my husband's car which smelled like something dead after loaning it out and it sitting in the head of aust unopened.

A dog could probably find it quick...they always have a knack for finding the most stinky thing and rolling in it...lol. For the smell in the meantime...cut up lemons and put them in a few bowls throughout the room that will help mask the odor. Good luck!

WOW!!! they are so hard to find sometimes too.... You can try to mask the odor, but often times that just gives you a strong dead mouse and fufu smell...
I would borrow a dog to sniff out the mouse :D:D:D

Sorry, I think finding the offensive beastie and removing it may be your only solution.

Set out bowls of white vinegar to help absorb the odors, but you're going to have to find the remains to get rid of it. The white vinegar really works and is the least expensive remedy for stale or any odors.
