Wow, you went everywhere. What a wonderful experience. You make me proud to be an American. Thanks.

Loved hearing your story!!! I would love to travel the US in an RV for a few months. There is so much of our beautiful country that I have not seen.
I have done some traveling, DH is in the Navy and have been to a few places overseas as well as across the country.
I'm glad that you had a wonderful trip!!!

Your children are adorable!!! No, not all costumes need to be scary. We were very weird people, we do not celebrate Halloween. I don't like how evil the "holiday" has become. Our children have never "trick or treated" we would usually find something else to do or go to a "Harvest Festival" at the church or something!

Thank you. I think we all need to hear how great our county is every now and again.

The adorable children are 25 years older by now and the pink baby in the middle made us twice grandparents!
The first halloween is so memorable to me as our son spoke his first sentence in english. He could barely say: tick or teat - no r back then and after receiving a little box of raisins he said instead of thank you with a quite whiny voice to the lady: I already got raisins...........
Adding to the preconceptions that californians are very much considering sweets as unhealty, lots of them handed dryed fruit instead of sweets

I enjoyed reading your account of living in the US and am glad that you had such a positive experience in the US. How lucky for your children to learn a second language as well. I would love for our kids to have learned another language growing up.

acctually I never did but DH on business and our children at the time they where grown up went there on several occasions.
I would love to come back but it is definately no place for a three week vacation, isnt it? Well just 12 more years until we are retired and who knows. We might hit some kind of jackpot on the way and become snowbirds..............but only with a big enough RV to take my sewing machine along
