    Get a sign that says

"My house was clean yesterday -- sorry you missed it."

I've had lots of giggles reading this thread!!!!

For years, I always hung up a sign in my kitchen no matter where we lived. "My house is clean enough to be healthy and dirty enough to be happy." When I finally retired, I sent the sign to Goodwill :-)

Luckily, DH encourages my quilting and we both love our little dogs. We are having fun and help each other with the cooking and cleaning. Pinch me....this is the truth!!!

Warning: This is just a theory and has yet to be tested. If I didn't go on line and I and stayed out of my sewing room my house would probably be cleaner. Some day I should probably test it to see if it's true. Nah.....

    Old fashioned:
Buy 2 mops. Take a sharpie and write "bath" on one and "kitchen" on the other.

All you need is water, vinegar, baking soda and kosher salt and towels, rags, toothbrushes and/or scrubbies. Those will clean everything imaginable.

Carpet sweeper and wood floor duster and paste wax.

    Modern:
I also like my Eureka floor steamer and wet/dry shop vac. A lot. :0)

    Ditto! I love FLYlady.net.
De-clutter your house 15 minutes at a time. Grab three boxes and label one "Throw away" another "Keep" and the other "Donate". As soon as the "Throw away" box is full, throw it away. As soon as the "Donate" box is full, tape it up and throw it in the back of your car and drop it off on your next trip. Take the items in the "Keep" box and put them in a new home right away. My house looks twice it's size after I started de-cluttering and using the Flylady's suggestions (Finally Loving Yourself) for two weeks and I cannot tell you how much it has helped me. BTW: When I quilt I do NOT set my timer for 15 Mins.

All of these are funny! and some are even helpful! :)

I live on a dirt road in an area of DIRT!!! High desert - means very dusty.

I used to use Pledge all the time but would have to dust every day. Finally got Endust...it works great! I use it on everything --- not only on the tables, but on the counter tops! My countertops are dark laminate...and it eliminates the watermarks. I also use it on the windowsills, on phones, on the microwave, on the fridge, on cabinets. A housekeeper taught me that if you use it all over, the dust just rolls off!!! Using it on the phones, etc, sure makes them shine!
