Every fabric place is over an hour away for me - so needlesstosay, every trip I make, the car is packed - can't "sneak" anything into the house that way! :) The last was not so much fabric as it was fleece and flannel - took up a lot of room but not that much in yardage!

I live 3 blocks from a Jo-Ann's, although I never buy fabric there. There's a quilt store 5 minutes or so across town that I'm not real crazy about. The closest good quilt shop is 15 miles away.

After I move it's going to be a whole lot farther to any quilt shops!! The closest will be an hour away. But I have thousands of shops right at my fingertips!

Closest is about 25 miles---far enough to keep me from spending more than I should.

I'm lucky, I live 3 blocks for Fabric Depot. It can be very dangerous for me though. All that beautiful fabric so close.

How lucky you quilters are to have quilt shops so close. I live out in the boonies (ranch life is wonderful and I do enjoy living here but when I want to shop I want to shop now!!) My nearest quilt shop going North, South or East is 90 miles, If I go West it is 218 miles but have a choice of about 10 different quilt shops to choose from. These are all one way distances. Needless to say I have a good stash of quilting fabrics on hand. Now just need the time to use them all.

    Hey Barbara,
I am in south Austin and we may have crossed paths in those very same stores! I have a lifetime Embroidery and Sewing Club membership at Austin Sew and Vac south; love their fabrics and mentoring I get there. Also use my coupons at the other two, and have you tried Hobby Lobby at Brodie Oaks?

Walmart  is about 10 miles away, LQS and Hobby Lobby are 20+ miles away. If I want to venture to JoAnn's or Hancock Fabrics (or other quilt shops) in San Antonio that's about 35 miles. One of the few disadvantages to living in the country!
