    QH, this is fascinating! The only TC's I knew about were the Jewish kids sent to England from Germany to escape the Shoah. I'm right now waiting for Google to bring up some hits for me to study the American ones. I wonder if any books about them have been written? Definitely weren't ever mentioned in my h.s. American History course (even tho the textbook was thicker'n an 8-folded Turkish towel :!: ); it's stories like this that could make students who are put-off by history perk up and maybe get hooked. :D

    My grandmother's half sister was Buelah Bondie. she was an actor and she played the old lady in the Tammy movie from the 60's. Ok, you ask.
