I REALLY ENJOY PUTTING THE BINDING ON A QUILT. IT THE CULMINATION A LOTS OF HOURS OF WORK AND KNOWING THAT MY QUILT IS FINISHED AND READY TO BE GIVEN AS A GIFT.

No you are not wierd. I don't like binding, but thats what makes the world go round. It would be so boring if everyone liked the same things.

Doing binding by hand is also relaxing for me. I enjoy the accomplishment I have done and this is the final step. I also like to hand quilt on certain quilts and that is also relaxing.

I'm doing a lot of charity quilts and baby quilts so I do the binding entirely with the machine but for a more personal gift or my own use i'll do the binding by hand but it does cramp my hands for sure....arthritis.....
I figure the charity and baby quilts get lots of washings and handling so machine stitching is best.

I like doing the binding--sew it by hand on the back--gives a nice finish to the quilt

I also enjoy the binding; even though I cannot find a comfortable thimble and my finger is pricked to death by the time I finish.

I guess I'm weird too - I love doing the binding. I like to do handwork of any kind.

I also find doing it by hand relaxing, but then again I like hand applique too, and cross stitch, which I also find relaxing.

I love to do binding too. I machine sew it to the front, and then do the rest by hand. I think it's relaxing!!
