I ordered McCall's Quilting for $14,. included postage. If the subscription is cheap enough, I'll order. I still like the feel of magazine in hand. Have to agree with everyone, it's seems like it's the same ole, same ole patterns with all of them.

I agree, most of the quilting mags are pretty much samo, samo. There might one good idea per magazine. Not worth the price for one idea. I let my subscriptions lapse too. Only magazines I realy enjoy now are Threads and Quilting Arts.

Yes, I know what you mean. I have been dropping all of my subscriptions when they come up for renewal. They are expensive, full of ads and very little that intetrests me any more. I decided it was best to look thru them at the store and buy only if I see something special to me.

I went out of town with my sisters for the weekend and picked up one to read while we were gone.
I sat with it yesterday for about 15 minutes and was finished---and bored---too many ads and not enough substance and definitely nothing new!

    I'm with you.

Ya' know, when I begin thinking what's wrong with me; I shouldn't feel this way about something----I open a new topic on QB and find so many feel exactly the same way. It happened with the magazine topic and has with so many others. It's good to know I'm not alone.

I agree, today I recieved a renewal bill for almost $50.00 for 1 magazine for 1 year. I just can't justify that expense right now. I read them and just pile them up and forget most of them. I am not renewing any, just using my computer and printer to get the ideas and patterns I really want.
Maybe they will get wise and do more on the internet.

I started taking Quilting Arts a few years ago and then Cloth, Paper, Scissors. These magazines really get my creative juices flowing. Now I think of quilting outside of quilts. I also try new techniques. The other quilt magazines have bored me but these magazines or a trip to the art museum or going to a meeting of the art guild really stimulate my creativity. You might try another form of art to see quilting in a new way.

I agree with you, it's same old same old. I just let three of my subscriptions lapse. I figure if I see something really interesting I'll just pick up that issue.
