06-04-2021A kimono quilt for a very dear Japanese friend of mine for last Christmas, who unfortunately didn't live enough to enough it much. It was all paper pieced, 132"x122", and took 9 months to finish it.

That sounds beautiful! Would love to see it.I have a small collection of Far East fabrics, but haven't decided what to make.

I have made 2 king size quilts - both the bear paw pattern. I sent one to be done on a long arm and I quilted the other one on my li'l ol' Pfaff. I will never do that again! The long arm will do any of mine bigger than a twin from now on!

made a reproduction of an antique quilt, Tumbling Blocks Pyramid, all solids, for a customer who saw it in a book. 27 different solid colors. Hand quilted. I think it came out to $700. We delivered it to him and he paid CASH off a huge wad of bills from his pocket.

One of the ones that I'm working on now is going to have 1600 pieces in it, and it'll only wind up being about 88\0x80. My goal is to have no fabric repeating. It's going to be in the tumbler block pattern where each block is measuring 2" finished.
I have no idea what my most expensive project was (they all seem expensive!) and the largest that I've made is 110x110.

The largest was for my DD (and SIL), it was a OVER-SIZED KING (they have a 18" deep pillow-top). It was also COMPLICATED, it had 8 "Y" seams per block (30 blks x 8 = 240) :roll: Originally Posted by Flying_V_Goddess

My biggest project in size was my very first quilt. Some friends talked me into taking a beginner class with them and I figured I'd better make something I'd use in case it was the last one I ever made. Needless to say it was just the beginning. I made 26 log cabin blocks (24 for the quilt and 2 for pillow shams). After I made ALL of them, I decided I didn't like the middle fabrics and ripped out the middle of each of those 24 blocks, rearranged the fabrics, and sewed them back together. I also machine quilted it (1st time ever) and wound up with what I lovingly call "my pucker quilt". I still use it today.
