Great idea for me to try! I have a difficult time getting a nice fit even with drawn line. I think I might be able to do it. LOL

I do something a little differently. I press a triangle into the end of each strip. Then I lay them out to sew with edges matching - no plus sign. I sew on the pressed line, press the seam open, and THEN trim the seam allowance. I even leave the selvage on, because most of it gets cut off with the seam allowance, and the little point that may be left is in the seam allowance.

OMG! I'm one of those people that obsesses over lining up the cut ends, drawing that perfect 45 degree line, then sewing the perfect seam. THANKS FOR THE TIP!

That's a great idea. A long time ago I bought a tool for sewing diagonal lines, but I am always losing it, so I like the painter's tape idea. Thanks.

I have the same tape set up on my Bernina, only difference is my painter's tape is bright blue.
Is this removing bulk tip something you can share with us? I guess I have not seen that episode and would love to learn it.

And Tartan thanks for this. I think I knew about this at one time but have forgotten LoL.

Here is the video. The cutting part is about 7-8 minutes in.
