I feel the same way about Moda Marbles black. Hmmm...I'll have to consider using black batiks also.

Noooooooooo i don't have any, all the batiks around this house seem to come in greens and purples. I will have to look for it.

There are several variations of black batks, mixed with blue, green or gray are common. The picture below show one we are using in our Iris BOM.

You bet and it is hard to find. I use it for ravens and hair of applique islander and latinos.

I used some to border my king-sized bed quilt. I'd dyed all the fabrics for the quilt but chose a black batik for the border. I loved it--I used up just about every last piece of what was left and am so tempted to buy more.

You know, those gorgeous colorful, bright batiks are going to look a whole lot more colorful and bright with a bit of dark in there.

There is also a really, really dark navy/indigo-ish which is fabulous for making the lighter colors sparkle.

It's all about contrast and value.

I buy the really dark batik darks whenever I can find them in 3-5 yard lengths. I'm always finding a use for them.

I'd love some black that "reads" as black. I've been looking for blacks and have found plenty of black and white prints, blue blacks, gray blacks and even green blacks but a decent black black is hard to find. I'd definately buy a black batik and I have the right pattern just waiting for it.

I think Kona black maybe what I have bought also in the past...if I'm correct, it has a bit of sheen to it that takes away from a dead black look.
