Our Walmart remodeled. My brother works there in the electronics and he said it was so every thing would be at eye level and no m ore climbing to get things on the high shelves. Our store took out the cross-stitch stuff, even the needles and then the fabric. I was in one day to look at material for the backing to a quilt I made. I went back a couple of days later with the top to match and the material was all gone.

One of the department heads at Cookeville, TN store told me they were bringing back 700 items to that big store. I hope they keep our material department well stocked.

What wonerful news. 3 stores within driving distance have removed fabric here in S. CA only when left and I was told recently that when they remodel the fabrics are going.
    So happy to hear this.

i just returned from florida and the walmart in kissimmee does have fabric. they have charms, 12" squares, jelly rolls, i yd and
    (2) 1-yard packets. everything is already cut and color coordinated. they also had fleece and flannel. when i was there they also had fats for .99, their choice. everything that was in bundles was color coordinated their choice. while the choices weren't bad, they weren't for everyone. they do not have and will not have (according to the manager) bolts again. everything will be pre-cut and color coordinated. boo!

I just went to the WalMart Store in Marble Falls, TX and they are adding fabric back to the store. I don't think it will be as much as in the past, but atleast there will be some available saving a long drive to look for fabric. They have added thread also. That was a real inconvenience when just a spool or two was needed. There was a lot of cut pieces and some bolts. Yea! The sales girl suggested that we write to Thank them. She said our area received over 4000 requests to add fabric back. Guess it does pay to complain.

I wrote my store today and asked if our fabric dept will be getting anymore fabric then it all ready does. We do have a fabric dept but, not as big. We do have bolts and someone to cut fabric. We have batting, some sewing machines, not many buttons, some thread.
Tables out in the aisle somewhat like it used to be but not as much fabric.
I thanked them for keeping what we now have and asked if it was true that fabric was coming back
    Have not heard back yet
I go to the Show Low, AZ walmart

From what I have seen back at one of our stores in Ga. is the precuts. Not too much of a choice. Especially if it isn't something that you really want.

Glad to hear Marble Falls Walmart is getting some fabric back. The last time I was in there, there was only a few fat quarters and some precut bundles. The colors really didn't appeal so haven't been back to check. Glad to hear there is aleast some thread.
