Janome all the way. We own 4 Janome sewing machines. I also have 4 friends that bought Janome and enjoy them. I was first introduced to Janome by my Bernina dealer. They cary Janome. I find them affordable, user friendly, great for quilting and dependable little work horses. I use my Janome 6500 most frequently and my children use the Janome Gem Gold. My background is Pfaff sewing machines.

I LOVE JANOMEs. I own the MC11000, MC10001, 6600, 7700 Horizon, and MB4. I start the embroidery machines and sew things on the 66 and 77s. In the past, I've owned MC300, 1600DP and the JemGold - all of which were sold when I ran out of room for the machines. I really do think they're the best machines on the market today. I've thought about a commercial grade multi-needle, but can't justify it when the MB4 and I get along so well.

Love both my Janomes (although in truth I have only used one of them as yet for any length of time)

I've owned 3 Janomes. The 423A, traded for the MC6500, and just bought the 3160 QDC for classes. Love them all. I don't know of another brand that matches for the money. Great machines...no problems or service needed yet...owned for over 7 years.

I usually just sew quilts and fabric dolls on my Janome 6600p but recently sewed patches on my husbands leather biker vest...at times through 3 layers of leather plus the patch with no problem. I like my machine, but don't know anything about the 4 needle one you're considering.
