I like to piece by hand. Have only had one quilt sent out for LAQ, but she was just learning and not very good, I will send big quilts out now for LAQ. but will do by machine if I need one in a hurry

I've always done all of my own quilting. I must admit that my most favorite part is piecing the blocks, but once I start quilting I really get into it. I do lots of free motion quilting too, very seldom do I mark the quilt first. I have a Janome 6500, I love it dearly, especially since I bought a quilters dream table, it made such a difference in the ease of quilting a large quilt. I've quilted king sized without any problems.

I quilt my own. Am fortunate enough to have a longarm machine. I love every part/step of quilting.

I hand-quilt all of my quilts. Like you, that is my favorite part.
I like to watch the progress and I don't hurry. The quilting relaxes me,
plus I like the soft look that hand-quilting produces. I'm not knocking machine quilting, but someone said "Handwork is the soul of the quilt."

Always quilt my own. Have a Janome 6500 with 10" throat and even a king size is no problem. I seem to get more satisfaction from the quilting process than from any other part of the quilt.

I quilt all my own. I have never sent anything out. My favorite part is seeing it come together.

Used to hate sandwiching them but now I use my diningroom table instead of the floor and it's not so bad anymore.

You can't use a walking foot properly with the feed dogs down. The way the walking foot works is like a second set of feed dogs for the top of the quilt - so it is fed through evenly top and bottom. To FMQ a lot of people use a darning foot with the feed dogs down.

I have done my own. It gives me great satisfaction knowing I did it myself.
