Talking about work taking up all your time. Maybe you all could quit your jobs and piece tops for your income. Kill two birds with one stone, LOL.

I'm retired, but friends and family seem to think I am a sewing robot and keep flooding me with sewing/mending that "won't take much time." My piles of UFO's and quilt patterns I want to try keep crying out to me.
I wish I could learn to say "No!" to these requests.

I've given up trying to hand quilt and sew by machine in the sewing/2-siamese-cats room. When I do need to do hand work, sitting in my recliner, my 2-yr-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi sits on the floor staring at me and whining for me to get on the floor with him and play. He has even groaned when I come into the living room with a quilt as he knows that he's forbidden to share my lap with a quilt!

No it's not just you. I went back to work 11/10 and I haven't sat down in front of the sewing machine since. Not a lot going on at work right now ~~ wish I could bring my machine to work!!!

Believe me, I know what you mean. And now, in addition to work, there's Christmas coming up!

I know what you mean. I spent 12 years completing my 2 B.A.s while working full-time and sometimes holding a part-time job as well. So, I finally have my degree and now, I don't really care to work in my field. I have been trying to learn hand applique during lunch hours and I spend down time reading here and searching the web for the next quilt plan.
