    Joy,
Enjoy what you do,and don't compare! If I did that, I would be done before I started! I am just a scrappie quilter, I do what I do, I do what I like and it is what it is! Everyone seems to like what I do, so much in fact, they oooh and aaah til they get one :)

My quilts couldn't win a contest if there was only two enter, I entered both, but it is the love in the quilt that everyone loves!!! I gave up comparing long time ago, we each have our own way!

I have quilted since the '70s and, to this day, am a "covers" quilter. In other words, when you make up the bed my homemade quilt covers are between the sheet and the spread. To me, it's a beautiful quilt when there's a smile coming out of it or it's finally the right shade because it got drug through a mud hole and the colors are now nicely blended! I love all these artsy quilts my QB sisters make but my crowd loves and uses my "covers" which is what I think about when I am piecing them together.
To ALL of you whatever skill level, THANK YOU for all the inspiration and encouragement.

It's the love and joy in the making of the quilt that matters, not the materials or expertise. God Bless you all.

I like you have a love for quilting, my way is the best I can do, no matter what the fabrics and threads are.It is a stress reliever for me, and that for me is more important than having the best.I would never pick up a needle if I compare mine to others here. They are beautiful in there own way no matter what the quality of fabric they have been made with. It's all made from the heart.Bless you, you are a loving, caring lady.

Have always heard if your blocks are about the same size & fit together....you're doing good. Not sure what a Victorian Log Cabin is, but I'm sure it's beautiful.

I love all LC quilts, but mine was the 2nd quilt I ever made & wonky doesn't begin to describe it.That's ok, I admire it :) All of us only do as best we can. I'm no expert, never will be....but that's ok. Sewing takes me to another place & that's good enough for me.Your avatar is outstanding! You're a quilter for sure.

Amen, Mizkyp! I am in it for the same reasons as Joy. My quilts will never win a challenge, but they're winners to my family when I gift them; and that's all that matters. And I'll bet those little ones who receive the Project Linus ones love them, too.

I'm like you! I buy what I can afford whether it be Walmart fabric's or the thrift shops. As far as pressing the seams I just go with what feels right on each quilt.
I'm sure your quilts are beautiful!

quilting is for the love of it not perfection. my point don't match, I iron my seams open. I quilt by the sit of my pants and I am always happy.
