I do less quilting in the summer, but do quilt all year round. Summer tends to be more piecing and I save the quilting for winter.

My sewing room is upstairs and afternoons are just too hot to sew! But if I get started on a project, I will sew in the mornings or sometime carry my machine, etc. downstairs to finish a project. I do more cross stitching in the summer.

I'm working on quilting one for my mom for christmas and she must have used wool or something. The quilt is hotter than most to sit under! But I have found that if I sit in my bed, I can put most of the quilt to the side and only have a little bit on top of me. It's too hot to quilt during the day, so I piece or make up kits, and at night I'll quilt but make sure the fan is on!

I have a big yard and garden to keep up with in the summer, but I still quilt, maybe not as often, but I still quilt, on rainy days or days that it's too hot to be outside and when we go camping I always pack my sewing machine and projects in the trailer to take along with me.

I probably do more cutting up fabric into my own project kits and cutting up scraps in the summer, less sitting at sewing machine.

I do not quilt as much in the summer due to the heat here in NC, I do try to piece tops and then when it cools off I quilt like crazy to get them all done. We also spend a lot more time outside, we have a garden and lots of flowers to keep happy.
