Default Roll of batting for a great price

We had to stop by Jo-Ann yesterday and all their batting on the roll was on sale. We found some 25 yard rolls of Pellon 100% cotton for $5.50/yard. It feels just as nice as W & N, is a good weight, has no thin spots or "garbage" in it, and at $5.50/yard we just couldn't pass it up. We won't have to buy batting for a long time now. Has anyone else used this batting? What did you think of it? Should I have bought another roll?

Yes, I bought a roll of this about a year ago. I think is OK, for the price I have not seen much difference.

I use it for placemats and table runners. It lays extremely flat and quilts nicely.

Dumb question here - was the batting white or cream/beige/tan?

I haven't tried that brand. I have been using Warm and Natural for years.
NOT a DUMB question........I would also be interested in the color

I did find out the hard way it does not take to pre-shrinking the way warm and natural does. I ended up with a rather large ball of cotton. I think the scrim is not as good as warm and natural. I have only seen this in natural color at my Jo'anns.

I've used a whole roll of it and have 2 more...love it and have had no problems with it ....I got mine for 79 dollars a roll a while back at my Joann's, couldn't pass up a bargain like that since I give away ALL my quilts and that's about 20 or more a year!!!!
