so glad to hear the postive responses for Joann's and I love the idea of handing the manager your card. I am sure it made her day

I'm really sorry you had such a bad experience but everything is so busy this time of year. She was probably as overwhelmed as you were. Also, they may have new, part-time workers for the Christmas rush. I'd definitely give them another try.

I'm with you..I make it my goal in life to ellicit smiles from cranky service people. I think they must be having a bad day or family problems and so I make myself be friendly, smile, make conversation and when we are through our transaction we are buddies. I hope I have made their day.

I have completely crossed JoAnn's off my list because of their service. If I have a coupon I give it to a local group who does quilting for charity. During the holiday season they have hired some men to do the check out and they are so efficient there is hardly ever a line. Yesterday a woman was coming to the register and it took her five minutes to take off her sweater, talk to fellow employees and get the register started and the lines were long. I'm not saying men do a better job BUT if the men can push people through why not the women? I have never gone in JoAnn's since and probably never will.
