I'm going to join in with the chorus of encouragement.

It's your house, you bought it. You *paid* for that space, so use it how you want rather than letting it sit there wasting away!!!

Plus, I'd like pictures when it is done.

Believe it or not that is exactly what I have been thinking of doing. I just don't know what to do with the furniture in the room. But, why not ?

I agree with the others -- go for it! I'm sure you will love it when it's finished.

I have a smaller living room area and a HUGE living room. I put my mid-arm and sewing machine and some fabric in the main living room and I now use the smaller LR where my TV, etc is. Like you I live alone and who cares this works for me.

I think it sounds like a good idea. More room is what every quilter wants. Go for it.

I agree with the person who said that it's your master and you're the master...so go for it.

I would do it in a heart beat. I just started quilting and I see very quickly space will be an issue.

When I retired, I decided to make my home suit my new life style. I had 4 bedrooms for just my husband and I. For years, I kept 3 bedrooms nice just in case I had company. Now I have a large sewing and craft room, an office and library combination, our bedroom and one small guest room. I love it and the whole house gets used (except the guest bedroom)!
