You would have more than that had you cut the pieces conventionally, trust me! Use that to stuff a dog bed.

We have a place in town that buys cotton scraps by the pound. Everyone saves their scraps in bags, and we give it to the Project Linus. They take them over there to sell to get money to buy batting.

I keep all those teeny strips/scraps and use them for stuffing for dog beds for the Humane Society...that way the beds are washable, instead of that cedar stuffing that comes in store bought beds! I feel like I'm doing something to make a shelter animal more comfortable...I can't adopt them all!!

I have used small scraps similar to yours for covering clothesline and then making baskets and bowls. Your scraps would make very nice bowls. The books I have are "It's a Wrap" and "It's a Wrap II" by Susan Breier.

I'd throw them away or use them for pet bed stuffing. There are a lot of creative ideas to use them but I wonder how much thread you would use and how much the thread would cost. Not to mention the time involved, I just don't have that much time to sew all those pieces together.

I'm so happy to hear this!!! And a great lesson for your granddaughter. When I make the pillowcases for the animal beds I have my grandchildren & sometimes neighbor children "help" me sew & stuff the pillowcases, I think the children learn some sewing skills & compassion for those in need. The animals don't care if the seams are crooked, they just see a comfy bed.
