Mine is called "Atrium White"...white with cream undertones. I think you can tell color better in a white or off-white room. If you want, you can decorate with a few handmade signs that you can "relate" to (like I did) & I added a sewing border on walls & tablecloths to match (I bought the border & tablecloths at the flee market years ago & put aside. I found them when cleaning out my room for the year, so decided to finally use! Come see. http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-87191-1htm#2170658 (if this doesn't work, try "off to a good start" post (posted 1/4). I'm not sure link will work, so you can look up the post. If nothing else, you might get a chuckle from the signs.
And have fun making your space YOUR SPACE.

My room is a nice size, and has been painted in constant coral and Colonial Brick. Then this oak tree in the yard decided to grow up and block a lot of my natural light. Sooooooooo, I am going to paint the room a soft butter yellow, and use red for the accents. I think it will work

My sewing room is blue, it makes me happy. I thought of yellow but everyone told me the room would seem hot. Green is soothing, Iuse that in other rooms.

I have white and doesn't seem to interfer with the fabric colors. Just my opinion.

My room is a light, creamy yellow. It is in the lower level of our home with a fairly large window. I wanted something happy and light.

The paint in a room actually reflects onto things in the room. I have white walls in my sewing room. If you have some other color it may be soothing, cheery, vibrant, etc., but the light hitting the walls from windows and light fixtures will reflect some of that color onto your fabric. It won't change the color a lot, but it will change it a very slight amount.

Blue is supposed to be the 'calming color'
