Also, I do not pre-wash (oh the humanity), I press with steam (how uncouth) and I have been known to machine-stitch the binding (faints from the horror). But the quilt police haven't been able to catch up with me yet!

The most controversial thing to me? Not having enough time to quilt as much as I would like!
Some of my valuable quilting time is being spent here but I love it here. Love your quote too.

That's so sad.... We should all feel free to voice our opinions. Isn't that what both of our great countries are founded on? Freedom of speech? (I'm Canadian) The world would be a very dull place if we all agreed on everything!! I believe it was Voltaire who said "I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend, to the death, your right to say it"

As for most controversial subject, I think it would be: how much quilting is too much? But I believe that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. OK, I'll stop quoting people now....

I just thought of one no one has mentioned

Tear vs cut at the fabric store

Another we will have to agree to disagree.

What kind of thread to use? - not one of the most controversial - but asked about fairly often

It's been on here before, some say it's the only way to get the straight grain of the fabric. Others say it makes too many strings.

No one has mentioned the "stash" issue. I personally don't believe you're a "bad" person because you have a large stash of fabric and quilting supplies but some try to make you feel that way.
