Welcome to the board ghagen. What an interesting thread you have posted here. I'm such a lousy speller I don't mind using abbreviations. This board is a wealth of knowledge. Oh and we're not all cranky!

I use Quiltcalc - from Robert Kaufman. I find it very useful. I'm going to read through all pages now to see what others are using.

MSQC!! Oh I so want a Kindle Fire! My hubby not happy with me "Borrowing" his ipad and then "Forgetting " to bring it out of the sewing room. Dropping such huge hints that there's cracks in the floor, but he seems oblivious.

Back to the original poster's question about IT and APPS....I am thinking that simply using a computerized sewing machine is part of IT. How many of you have a machine that you can download designs for embroidery? Or quilting designs for your long arm? What about all the different stitches and options on our machines that are just a touch of a away? I also have a smart phone and use the coupon apps all the time (between the online coupons that I can print, the mailed coupons, the flyer you can pick up at the door and the app on my phone....I never buy anything without a coupon!).

And as for all the acronyms - If you prefer to type them out, please do so without giving it another thought. I also type out most everything, but will occasionally sneak in one here and there (spelled correctly!...LOL). I have a much harder time with grammatical errors (there, they're, their....to, too, two....border, boarder....etc.).
