Here's another one I'm looking for the pattern/design info - its this sashing - I don't really know how to describe it. I'm hoping either one of you more experienced quilters knows or someone can point me to a pattern/tutorial.
This group is the best and I appreciate all the knowledge and sharing!

looks like large triangles made from two strips. one strip of color and a wider strip of white. then pieced together alternating up and down. many similar strip club designs from Cosy Quilt shop or Kathy Brown's books https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMXwYpoPz2s

I don't know about a tutorial, but just from looking at it:

The cornerstones are made of a pinwheel block as the middle of an exploding block (is there another name? I only know the one from the MSCQ tutorial! )

The other part you can either make with diamonds cut in half and then add wide background fabric, similar to a flying geese. Or you sew a wide white strip to a coloured smaller one and cut triangles with a 60° angle from it. However, that way you'll have lots of triangles leftover with a dark bottom and a white top (opposite of the one in the quilt), but you can use that for the back of the quilt!

Yes ma'am! The quilt itself is beautiful - and I'm not looking for that type of project lol. I have seen this sashing in other quilts - this was the first one I found when actually looking for more info on the sashing. There are some beautiful quilts in that album.

Thanks pagzz - i have made a strip tube quilt but I didn't see it when I looked at this. maybe i'll try to figure that one out.

And Cathy77 - agree completely on cornerstones, pinwheels are easy enough. I think I'm not totally following your steps for making the offset pointy sashing. Does this pattern have a name?

All I know is that if I tried to design that sashing to go with a quilt, without using a pattern, I would never be able to get the size right! It is really beautiful.

Not that I know of! Which part are you referring to exactly? It's the same idea as Pagzz had with two strips being sewn together. You just cut the triangles with a wider angle than 45° - or are my eyes deceiving me?

@ Jan - I did enlarge from the original link and print it off. I came up with a close design to yours, I think I'll pull out the scrap box and see if I can make something work. I also wondered if this is just PP'ed?
