It looks great. Just seeing it inspires me to get started!

I have also got started on mine - missed sewing nine patches and it's a quick project to do with an extra 1/2 hour when there's not enough time to work on a bigger project. Thought I was going to have to buy some fabric but I have found plenty of scraps - just had to buy some white Kona.

I made about 40 before realizing my white fabric is too thin. Really don't want to send it in a swap, so will use those myself and start over.

I am planning to buy some white at Walmart, their Waverly line of quilters cotton. Now, after reading your trouble with thin fabric Sewbiz, I'm worried it might not be the best. What do you all think? I might splurge on a few yards of some Kona white. I wouldn't want to send in second quality blocks for anyone.

I love the Kona White that I'm using - used a Joann's 50% coupon so was only $4.50/yard. I thought the white was whiter than the Snow.

Just use your best judgement, NZ... I went to a big Christmas in July sale at a not-so-localQS today and saw a nice Kona White of a good weight (not see-through), so I bought that to pair with my scrappy squares and strips.

I used Kona white. Got my blocks made a few weeks ago, since I knew I'd soon be swamped with my upcoming craft fairs and a fundraiser for a local animal rescue group. Still gotta ir0n the blocks and square them up, though.

I'm having problems going scrappy, I always tend to get matchy but I will do scrappy in the next sets to come. I cut out strip sets today and plan to sew while on vacation next week, it will be a great project if we get a day or two of rain.

The white that I am using is Dream Cotton from Marshalls.

I bought the waverly white from walmart and then didn't use it. It seemed too thin compared to the Kona.

Dream Cotton is a great solid! It's basically the same thing as Moda Bella Solids... or perhaps exactly the same. They are made at the same factory.
