Yeah, something to add to this thread. I am about 80% cleaned up and organized. A place for almost everything and almost everything in its place! But I still have more stuff than what is needed. Yesterday I went to a one day "sew-in" and took along a bag of fabric that is nice but has just been sitting for oh, more than 10 years without a use or plan. Also, I had some magazines and a patterns that I had picked up at give away tables but I know I will NEVER make any of those quilts. Let's be realistic here. So, away they went with me to the "sew in" and...... all of it was claimed by some one else! I guess I am an enabler. 
I came came home with an empty bag! About 13 yards of fabric out of my stash and fewer patterns/magazines that will never get used that I don't have to put away. I never considered that one of the side benefits of being "almost" organized would be the ability to look at my stash with eyes open and see what needed a new home.

Gotta represent for that feeling of being realistic about the projects that we really won’t EVER get around to! I did that a while back for my cross-stitch supplies, and more recently with my Geocaching supplies. At some point you have to look at how your life and interests have evolved, and start replacing, Maybe someday I’ll get back into this and get around to using this… with cold hard, Let’s be real here, I am never going to tackle a project like this ever again!
And then let that wonderful stuff go on to someone who will use and appreciate it.

I totally agree with you. My craft supplies went away last month, and I am thrilled. Many years ago I was painting Christmas decorations and decided I was done. Just never really thought I did a great job. So when a friend of mine asked to borrow my paints, I said, "On one condition, you never give them back." I knew I was done. The same with my embroidery supplies. I had so many threads, needles, cross stitch pieces, etc. and a church group on the QB said they were looking for donations for their people to make/finish and off it went. I kept one kit I had started and it travels with me. But now that I do EPP, it maybe the next to go.

A small victory but a victory nonetheless! My 7-1/2 month old puppy has decided that when fabric boxes (most of mine are of the plastic shoebox/underbed box variety) are open they become beds/play spaces for her. She is also my constant shadow. While I've managed to be able to grab fabric quickly and slam lids back on, it's not generally done well or tidily. Her obsession has also meant that for the last 4 months all "auditioned" or otherwise looked-at fabric has been either put in a pile (out of reach, of course) or in a plastic tub. Today she had a nap in another part of the house and 90% of the fabric that was waiting to be put away is now safely out of her grasp and mostly back to where it should be. :-) I'm just so excited to have had something to report on this thread. :-D

Gemm-congrats on getting that fabric put away. My dog is 14 years old, and still wants to help whenever I get down on the floor to look for stuff. Trying to pull threads or fabric when he's got his head shoved into the container can be quite challenging LOL.
Not really organizing, but today I'm trying to get most of the 40 six inch log cabin blocks done for my very scrappy "around we go" quilt. The last class in in a couple of weeks and I really want to have them done by then. I did take the time to sort my piles of fabric into lights, mediums, darks and backgrounds so I wouldn't have to spend so much time sorting through the piles when making the blocks.
Since it's the beginning of the month, does anyone have a new organizing project they're starting up or planning, or just thinking about when the mood strikes?

Got up EARLY this morning and decided to attack both cutting tables. Once I got going it really didn't take too long. Now problem is to mantain it...lke that's gonna happen.
Rob, to answer your question...end of Feb decided to help quilting buddy with her charity project. So with sewing for Project Linus, I'm sewing pillow cases for kids in the hospital. (That's why I had huge messes on both cutting tables.) So far I've made 40. They go together so fast!
