The Family Jewels just hangs by a wire on the back, on a nail in the wall. On the back of the quilt I handsewed a strip of fabric about two or three inches by almost the width of the quilt, much like a rod pocket at the top of the quilt. But I sewed both ends shut and left the long bottom side open, so that I could slide the quilt over the top of the jewels board to hang from it.
Was that clear as mud? Hope I didn't just confuse you.

I seen something like this on Antique Road House on TV. They appraised it for like $15 to $20,000.Better hang on to it.

I was wondering what that thin cord was hanging down from the quilt cover -- you could make a little pocket on the back of the quilt, unplug the cord when not in use and store it in that pocket ....
P.S. Nice work on the cover-up...

The tree is on a green velvet-covered board 22" wide x 34" high. The tree itself is 15" at its widest point and 28" total length. You can't see it from the pics, but MIL and GA drilled holes in the board and inserted a string of Christmas lights also.

I have costume jewelery from my mother-in-law and lots of cute buttons. This is a very good idea.

I just finished it -- yes, I know it is almost time to remove it again -- and I think I'll call it "Hiding the Family Jewels." I designed it on EQ6.
You did a great job of Hiding the Family Jewels. I am cracking up!
