I love your fabrics and I think the difference in the scale is perfect. this will be a beautiful, soft and subtle quilt that your MIL will love. You could use a neutral contrast with maybe a touch of a darker shade of the blue. Don't give up on this. Go for it! You will be glad you did. Nice work on this!!!! Dani

I like the 2 blocks together that you shared with us. I don't think you should put sashing in it. The blocks create a wonderful pattern that will be beautiful!! Dani

I like it, I am attracted to quilts that don't scream at you. It's the overall look that counts and I think you will be very pleasantly surprised to see how great it will be . Keep at it and show us again when it's done. The colors go very well together but a third color may give it the punch you are looking for.

I, too, think it will be beautiful when it is finished. I'll bet you will be very pleased with the finished product. Keep up the good work & be proud of what you create.

I think it works well as a soft and gentle design, huge contrasts are not always what everyone wants or likes, the colours in your quilt are very relaxing and subdued, really beautiful for a bedroom, I say continue on with it!

I would not use sashing because it would break up the continuity of the pattern. It is turning out beautifully.

I really like it. I think the subtle design will turn out fantastic. Personally, I wouldn't use sashing because I lkie the design that is coming out. Great job on your seams.

I agree too, I would not use sashing. It is beautiful the way it is turning out so far with the two blocks.
