I’m really enjoying everyone’s pictures and thoughts since the reveal. There are so many creative quilters doing this quilt but I’m not one of them. I only made half the units so putting them on point wasn’t going to work with Bonnie’s math. I’m not clever enough nor was I inclined to put them on point as I confess I like the straight layout better. I just need to decide on whether I want to use the green for binding.

JanieW, your quilt is beautiful! I think I might bind in the yellow, but then, I usually go for a more blended binding color.

JanieW: I love the way your quilt turned out. I agree with joe'smom - I would consider binding in yellow. But that's just me, as I often try use a narrow border then bind in the same color.

Thanks for the compliments and advice. The green is out. Now I’m thinking pink or yellow while taking into account the backing fabric. Advice is very welcome.

I could do yellow binding on front with pink on back.

I may be in the minority but think the green would be a fabulous binding color. It would really tie everything together. But whatever you chose, your quilt will look great. I love the birder/center print. Fabulous work!

Thanks, SuzSLO. Sorry for posting with my alt account but I sometimes have trouble posting pictures and reading replies with JanieW. This one doesn’t give me the same problems so I don’t think it’s my iPad. Frustrating.

    Lovely stuff Janie/Jay!

I've decided on the "random" placement and will be finalizing my individual block locations today. Other than turning them the right ways, I am not concerned with where the butterfly blocks go, just where the flowers are.

Below is a scan of what I will be using to label my blocks with a diagonal set. It just happened that my favorite on-line graphing site had about a perfect layout for me to use
    https://www.incompetech.com/graphpap...ull%20Grid.pdf
I love that website and use it several times a year for something or another.

JanieW, what a stunning backing fabric. My personal preference is the yellow with that fabric also, but either pink or yellow will be gorgeous.

I used up most of my pins pinning my sampler sashing pieces (which are now sitting as leader/enders), so I am forced to take a small batch approach to sewing my QST halves together. I think it is better that I approach this task with patience rather than a plow-through attitude, so I'm embracing the pin shortage.
