Default The only one boozing it up at our house this Thanksgiving..........

    is Mr. Tom Turkey.
In a couple of hours old Tom Turkey will be living it up in a Whiskey Maple Syrup brine soak for 12 hours.
I found this recipe a couple of years ago in my Food Network Magazine. It is the best, the turkey comes out so moist and tender.

The last two Thanksgiving I used Wild Turkey. This year Mr. Tom Turkey got the good stuff.....my husband's Maker's Mark.

I also have the cornbread drying out overnight for my sausage stuffing (my favorite and my husband's giblet stuffing). Then I am going to roast a bunch of veggies (red bell pepper, yellow and zuchinni squash, acorn squash , mushrooms and some red onion. Candied yams as well as a baked sweet potato for me and roasted brussel sprouts with bacon. Oh and don't forget the homemade gravy, cranberry sauce and Pumpkin pie for dessert.

    Here is the recipe:

We don't do turkey. Its just going to be my husband and I and neither of us is that big on turkey. We'll be having either steaks or smoked ribs with sweet potato casserole done in the crock pot (new recipe), roast veggies, spinach salad with cranberries and Autorama afterwards.

I only used a cup of the good stuff.....lol Our Mr. Tom Turkey is only 11 pounds, so I cut back on the ingredient measurements.
