Thanks for the answers about the 222 price. I had thought it reasonable but wanted to check. The other two were in the ridiculous price range category. Again, thanks.

You also might find that it's cheaper to get one out of Canada. My machine was under $300 and I know people (personally) who've gotten theirs for under $200. These machines are already 120V machines.

I saw this beauty on Etsy. The seller is convinced that they have the rarest of the Singer 66 red eye machines and cabinet combo, it call all be yours for the tiny sum of $12,959.00.

Someone could buy this one and save almost $13,000.

Hmm, a really good reason for that 20 hour flight in coach to Australia....I'm tempted! Canada is much closer, however!

Hmm, the 222's aren't cheap in Vancouver, BC! That's probably the closest I come to Canada unless I go north of Spokane. Will have to start the hunt!!

I'm not actually all that shocked. Vancouver's expensive for everything. There's also a lot of money there so people are willing to pay more, hence higher prices. You probably would find the further east you come, the better the prices.

I've thought of trying to set up a sewing machine on my treadmill but maybe I need this instead-

Clever - you can take a machine all over town to do mending for people! Make money and exercise at the same time!!

I should figure out how to set one of those up in my car, I could get some sewing done as I drive, if I'm not busy texting of course.
