Macybaby: Thank you! You don't have to do that. I am finding it hard to say no though.
I have a real liking for pretty much anything art-deco-including one of the "ugliest" sewing machines ever made.
Greywuuf: Any old black machine is automatically an industrial machine to sellers. Compared to some of the new cheapy plastic ones it may actually seem that way. Your picture is a great way of showing the difference. Create problems for the sellers. Post an ad on Craig's List with that picture.

Rodney - I'll send you pictures of the machine and then you can decide for sure. DH says "if he wants it, send it to him".
Speaking of industrial machines - got the Hemstitcher out in it's table. I wish some of the sellers could see what a true vintage industrial is like - and how much they weigh!

I agree! The clutch motor from an industrial weighs close to or maybe even more than a regular vintage sewing machine. 10 times more is what my back said when I was lifting one into place to bolt it back to the table. I really should have waited for DH on that one. I hurt for 2 days after it.

This link will get you to the Montgomery Wards machine a lot quicker.

Macybaby I'll take it. It's a turtle back motor design. I don't have an example of that particular engineering deadend yet. It will be good as part of a display of the evolution of earlier electric to modern machines. It's a pretty neat machine on several levels and a good example of the evolution toward more modern looking machines with it's built in (on) motor and a hinged nose cover with a light inside.
I hope since you're giving it to me that we're not breaking any rules posting publicly here.
