Thanks! I have a 401 in equally perfect condition... very lucky! I found them both on EBay actually.

Daisey-- I am looking for an Elna Supermatic to replace my mothers' (in Colorado) that was inadvertantly 'donated' in a forgetful moment. I've given up tracking it down...and now I'm looking for one in great condition. Thank you...to anyone that knows where a great one can be found....

hi HelenElna, I think this might have been posted incorrectly on this thread, which is for the Singer 301 Model. I will try to guide you as best as I can. There are some great deals on the web bidding sites, or you might want to consider joining a Yahoo group specifically for Elna.
Also post this in the Buy Sell site here on this Board under Buy/Sell and use the ISO(in search for) prior to your request. Hope this helps.. liz

If you can get a manual, it will tell you what they are. That's how I figured it out. Then I ended up with 2 machines! I quilted a chair throw on mine and it did very well.

Does anyone know anything about a 403? I have a box of attachments and no machine.

Try looking at the 'Sew-Classic' Blog by Jenny. Lots of info.
