Good choice. I paid $450 for one and $25 for another. I figure it all evens out in the end. And I love them both.

I have read, no experience tho, that putting crumpled newspaper in a smelly case will remove the odor. I might even lightly spray the interior of the case with Febreeze. Let us know what worked.

I paid $350. for mine and went and looked at the featherweight shop and got the shoe polish and black marker and fixed it up and it looks beautiful and my case just shines. They have some wonderful website and youtube videos to look at. Your machine is a beauty

I don't think you overpaid. I paid $495 for my first featherweight. The Featherweightshop.com has a video on how to make that case look better and you can sometimes find reasonably priced attachments to fit your new featherweight at ShopGoodwill.com. Enjoy your new machine. They're cute and fun to sew on.

No you didn't bad at all. My Featherweight cost more but it came with the cord and bobbin case. I'd get her all up and running and you'll be thrilled with how nice your Featherweight runs and enjoy it all!

I would have grabbed that 221 at $200. Go to www.novamontgomery.com She not only sells original parts, but shows how to clean and restore our beloved machines. Love, love, love her site.

Two things I've really been glad I bought: replacement LED bulb (much brighter light and stays cool) and the tune-up kit from the featherweight shop site (easy to use oil bottle and grease applicator) plus their videos were really helpful.

You will love it when you have her up and running. Look into the Featherweight Shop for great tutorials on how to redo the case, and repairs you can do your self. They have an online store so you can replace parts etc... They also have a facebook page that ends up having lots of ideas. Have fun with it.
