Update on both sewing machines. I did a test run and both work fine. The 99k purrs like a kitten. She is a keeper and I will likely re-home the other 99s I have.

Steve, this a pic of the knee control bar and the business end that slips on to the knob at the lower right of the case bottom.

The Pheasant is a nice as she looks in the original picture. The electrical "upgrades" will be removed and she will be returned to a treadle.

Case is in fairly nice condition

I have not played with her yet to determine how the bobbins were wound. Like the foot controller though

Interesting wiring that cries to be removed even though she runs OK. The front bobbin slide plate is new

Last but not least, a thread nest!

Very nice looking Singer 27! The Pheasant decals are one of my favorites. I’m glad you’ll be putting your bird back into a treadle. It looks ok as an electric, but I think it will look better in a treadle.

Are nests common with Pheasants?

No, nests are not common. It was tested at GW and I think that the bobbin is/was not loaded in the shuttle correctly. Or it could have been or is a tension/threading issue. I have not started messing with it yet.

that is also what a machine does when you "sew" with no fabric in it.
(Usually while testing/demonstrating that it works....)
