Yeah, that seems like a lot to me, but then, I have only 4. I have my newest Scandinavia 400 (the cheapest thing Viking makes), plus my old Singer 630 that I bought used when I lived on Staten Island, a Singer 301A that I purchased from Ebay last year, and my Featherweight that I just got last week from Craig's list! Had to drive an hour one way to pick it up, but I figured it was worth it. :-D

I have 5. 3 of them are embroidery machines, one is for taking to quilt guild when we have a class, one I took to my daughters, because she always either brings me stuff to alter or mend when I go see her or she comes to see me, then I have to mail it back to her. She lives in Ogdensburg, NY, I live in Tennessee.
I also have 2 sergers (one is at my daughters) and a professional hemming machine.
How many can I use at one time? 2
I am looking for an antique machine, that I can afford. LOL

I have a total of 11, One Universal, my first sewing machine that is nearly 40 years old, a Brother CS6000i, 2 Singer 201's, a Janome Mini Sew, A 1903 Singer 127, 2 Singer Featherweights. a Singer 15-91, a Singer 301A and a Singer 66 Treadle that was given to me by my MIL. My repairman says I have a nice collection.

I thought about selling one or two of mine, just can't! I sold a beautiful treadle once because we were moving and my dh was tired of moving it, I regret it to this day. So now I got to find another treadle.

How many machines do we NEED, or how many machines can we fit in our house? I have 11, I think. I have a White treadle from 1865, another non-functioning treadle that is just a tchotchke right now, a hand crank Singer, my mother's Singer from 1936, another Singer given to me from the side of the road, plus a couple Kenmores given to me, in addition to my 4 Viking computerized and my DGDs Viking.

The question is how many do you want? I have 15, including freebies, treadles, serger, and modern cheapies. There are at least four set up around the house for me and DD to use. Oh yes, they all get used, trying to get teenagers interested in sewing.

I have six; a 127 (I think) treadle, 221 Featherweight, 301a, 401a, 500 (or 501a) and 5 year old White, not sure of the number, I haven't gotten it moved over to our new home yet.

I have 8 right now but 3 of them were bought because I was running a sewing club where I teach. I have a babylock, a newish singer, a small cheap Brother for classes, two heavy old machines which run well, an old Europro, a Bernette which had a foot control problem that I fixed, and a 1913 Singer 66 red eye that I am still rehabbing. But which is working. I mostly use the newish Singer, the Babylock, and the treadle.
