I was always told that you are supposed to spend your Birthday doing things YOU want to do...

I didn't get to do much that I wanted to do Yesterday, but I was able to block out some time to work on the Singer VS2 "Daisy". I had hoped to be able to go through the accessory set and try each one, but life got in the way..

This machine is so clean and smooth operating that there really is nothing that I can do to there, but I WAS able to start cleaning the hardware for the treadle.

Guess what? These "brass" bits are not brass....

and once cleaned of the old dried oil we have...Silver!!

Very nice, Steve. Eventually I hope to find some original drawer pulls for my Jones. Previous owner didn't like them and made new ones out of twigs. No accounting for taste, I guess.

Happy belated Birthday and sorry that life got in the way on your special day but glad that you are having a life! Cannot believe how far that machine/table has come since you first got it. I wouldn't know it was the same one if the photos weren't in this same thread. It keeps getting more and more beautiful but then you seem to have that "touch" for those kind of things.

Happy belated birthday... mine is tomorrow and I'm just glad to get to celebrate it...all the kiddos are now gone from Thanksgiving ..so it's back to reading my Quilting board and doing some sewing. Love your clean up job.

My thoughts exactly!! Holy Moses, that's so amazing! Thank you for sharing it. And I'm not really a vintage machine geek, but that's like nothing else. And the provenance .... and the cabinet ... and the work you did!!
