301 Absolutely Fixable!
I was lucky enough to receive a black 301A this summer. I needed to replace the bobbin tire also. It can be bought from many online sites or ordered from your local repair shop.
Uses same bobbins and bobbin case as Featherweight 221.
15x1 needles or Schmetz 130/705 Denim or topstitch with a big curf (or is that scarf?) above the eye. It likes sharp needles.
You can get the feet for the slant shank also online.
You might need to replace the rubber feet, and can, easily for average of $1.00 a piece.
I used it just this evening trying to get this bad hand summer behind me. I practiced running long straight seams. They got better for awhile then they went bad again as I strained too long. But, it is coming along. I hope to be sewing projects for others soon.
Aardie.

Years ago I wanted to take it out of the cabinet & bring it to a dealer to fix but to no avail--so just left it & when I moved I brought it with me & it is still closed up--I painted the cabinet but didn't do a really good job. Maybe I should take it out & try again. The only thing bad on it is the little wheel where you have to wind the bobbin on-that piece is worn off. Do you think it can be fixed? Would any one else know-If so kindly let me know. Thanks a million
