Default Latest on my friend's machine

A few weeks ago on the "rescue" thread I asked about how to get things unstuck on this machine that nothing at all was even wiggling.

I put a bottle of transmission fluid in the bottom of a tupper and soaked the bed of the machine overnight and oiled everything up top really well.

The next morning several things were loosened but still not able to get anything to really move.

Today my friend brought over a can of PB Blaster. Is this ok to use?

Well that's not what I meant to focus on, but it is the right machine.

I use PB Blaster and find it works very well on rusted and gummed up parts. Instead of spraying I dispense it from an old tiny Singer oil can. Only bad thing I can say about it is the strong smell.

x2 on the PB Blaster. I started using this stuff to breakdown the rust so that i could rebuild a 1966 Barracuda "Barn find" I have one of my old original sewing machine oil cans filled with the stuff now. Works great.

It CAN be harsh on paint to use with caution. I usually just add a drop or two and watch it soak in, 2 to 3 times a day for two to three days usually does it.

Thanks for the thumbs up on the PB Blaster!
It worked. I sprayed it only on the underside of the machine. Let it sit for a bit while I did something else and came back and there was noticeable movement but still not able to move freely. Let it sit awhile longer and gently forced the wheel by hand till it would go all the way around. Still has a bit of a catch but can now crank it either way.
Still plenty more cleaning to do but now I know it is worth the effort.
Now to find a shuttle for it. . . Suggestions for a good source?

Cindy Peters, Stitches in time on ebay and online in general, will have a shuttle for you.
