I forgot to mention that Muv has the best video on Youtube showing how to load the bobbin.

I don't know if I just got lucky but I got it loaded with just 3 trys. I guessed at threading it & 1st try worked. I downloaded a manual from Singer that said it was for 128 but the manual was not for my 128. It showed a regular round bobbin (like the new machines) & mine has a shuttle so I took a lucky guess & it worked. It sounded a bit loud but I'm sure it hasn't been oiled in ions so I did that & ran it for a bit & will try it again tomorrow. The stitches were unbelievably regular & very good. A bit small but perfect. Is there a way to adjust the stitch length?? Does anyone know?

Stitch length regulator is the knob between the bobbin winder and the Singer badge. No numbers, just have to twist and see, without unscrewing it all the way.

Carol, the silver knob just below the bobbin winder should adjust your stitch length... Here's a manual:

Tks Charlee for all your help. I do think I am hooked. I already have a lead on another machine. The lady is supposed to email me pics tomorrow. I am supposed to finish some sewing that is driving me crazy & would so rather be quilting as I want to make a quilt for my best friend's birthday, which is Mar. 21 (I work well under pressure) or at least I better LOL
I have now been asked to do some sewing for local cancer patients & how do you say no to that? I am just thankful that I can help out.
Better get back to work. Tks again.

it is pretty easy for someone who knows sewing machines...I bought mine in an antique mall and had to figure it out crouched in a crowded booth...but I wasn't going to buy it until I knew for sure it was going to work for me! LOL
