Default My OSMG is an enabler, Singer 115

A Singer 115, Tiffany/Gingerbread decals, has been on my wish list. I visited him on Tuesday to pick up a few goodies and I spied the 115. I asked him if he wanted to sell it, silly me, of course the answer was yes, Someone had given it to him. The treadle base was missing the treadle wheel and pitman arm, so I bought only the sewing machine head. It is missing the bobbin winder assembly which he will be looking for, he thinks he has one somewhere. After an oiling I mounted her in a Singer 127 cabinet. The serial number is G4,090,272, allotted 29 June 1915. She will be 98 years old on Sunday.

Love how quiet she is and her perfect stitches.

This is the fix for the belt connector, dental floss. I don't think the metal clip thingys are made well these days.

Congrats! I love my 115 with Gingerbread decals. I have her set up with no thread so that I can do paper piercing on freezer paper for paper piecing. She is so precise and quiet. You will fall in love with your new machine.

Beautiful machine - congratulations. I also switched to dental floss for holding the two belt ends together. I cut and stabbed myself one too many times with the staple fastener.

Me too! I never thought of doing that. Brilliant idea.

Wow, almost 98! Lovely machine...I love seeing vintage machines...takes me back to carefree childhood summer days spent with my great-grandmother as she taught me to sew on the Singer 66 pictured in my avatar..also have such sweet memories of of her daughter, my wonderful Nanny and how patient she was in her sewing lessons with me, too...happy times!
