What type of needles do you buy? Can you use regular sewing machine needles that you would use on an electric sewing machine?

Mine came with several, but I did try to put a regular needle in and it is too short. I just lowered it just a little and that worked. I can't say that is the right thing to do, but it worked. The drawers are stuffed full of notions. The lady I bought it from had to go to a nursing home and the machine is still as she left it. I haven't sewed anything in particular, just played. I have about 5 bobbins that are in the drawer and that took some time figuring it out. She filled the bobbins on top of old thread. There are about 4 different colors of thread on each bobbin. Just talking about it makes me want to get it out and play again.

You should be proud, she's gorgeous. I just love the vintage ladies.

I did not end up getting it....so bummed it was missing two major pieces. The shuttle and the bobbins and the belt was broken. I will research the price on them but I think I can find a better deal with all of the pieces.

I am 65 and my Grandma Hoffman had one just like this and she sewed with it all the time. Don't know where it is today though.
