It moves back and forward just the button will not come out as shown in the video for I believe the stops. It also lifts up slightly, just not up or down of which I think releases the button. Is that right?

Will watch the video again but think all they said is that it is easily fixed with the oil and a blow dryer. Yeah right!

RedGarnet222,
Do you have the manual or would you like me to attach it for you. Just thought I would check if anyone needs it.

Some people have had good luck with the oil and dryer and typically that works for me. Not with this machine, however.

I haven't tried it, but why wouldn't it work?
That's what I meant when I wrote it' s not necessary and not worth my time to dismantle it.

Makes sense and I understand. Thanks for letting me know. I have never had any Bernina and usually try my best to get them back working as they were. Sometimes that just is necessary. I have read here how much they are desired and wanted to do my best. All the stitches work and it is very quiet, will be happy with things as they are. Really appreciate all the help.

Thanks again,
Lisa

It came with the booklet lisa. Thanks for offering a replacement though. I was over at ebay looking for the missing foot and saw how expensive everything is. Even the dang foot is sixty bucks! Oh well, when you gotta do it ...

Oh does anyone know how to get the musty smell out of the case? I hate to replace that too. I like to keep things as original as I can.

I use a trouble light to remove the musty smells and have had great luck with that. You position the light inside the cases making sure it does not touch anything. My understanding is that the heat kills the mold. I leave it and reposition it so it faces all sides for several days but it cannot touch any sides. I believe the low heat is what takes care of the smell. I close the lid partially as well. I am very careful! So far have not burned anything but I do use a low watt bulb and that maybe is why it takes a little longer sometimes. As you can see I'm NO photographer! Hope this helps. You can also hang it from the cord in the Bernina case leaving an opening for heat to escape if need be.

I am jealous too... It's beautiful and will undoubtedly sew like a dream for many years to come!
