Here are two quilts that my granddaughters made the blue one was made on an older machine that we don't know the name of it just has a gold V on it. Got it at an auction. The black one was made on a 301 long bed. The blue one was made by a 12 year old and she did all her own sewing. The black one was made by an 8 year old. I had her sit on my lap and worked the foot pedal and she pushed the quilt through to quilt it. They are so proud of themselfs. They are going to put these in the WV State Fair this Aug.

"Training them up in the way they should go"... LOL! Bravo to your little granddaughters! They are so blessed to have Grandmother like you Trish! Their quilts came out great and i bet they are so proud - just looking at them makes me think about how cozy they will be to cuddle under!

Nice that they will submit the quilts to WV State Fair! Will there be a picture of the machine that they used along side the information sheet that is by the quilts? That would be cool to see what machine the made their quilts with too. They did a great job! Thanks for sharing with us!

Okay I just spent a good hour here drooling over the great quilts you all have made and tucking away inspiration for the future! All the more wonderful to see what was made with vintage machines!

I followed the wise advice i was given here on the Vintage section and found out you all were not exagerating when you said a Singer 301 is a great machine for free motion work. This is the first quilt I made on "Ginger"... my first attempt ever at machine sewn raw edge applique and a mini quilt (14" x 18") for the Doll Quilt Swap. Guess what? For once I had fun trying to free motion quilt! And I love my 301 so much that I put away my Baby Lock for the rare times i'll want to use it.

Very pretty quilt I love all the colors.

Monica, No pictures of machines used. They take all the quilts entered and hang from wires across a hugh celing. They hang them by class. There's will be ages 12 and under.

I recently finished a quilt for my hammock. It is double-sided, garden and camping theme. I made for myself the kissing fish, which is called the Maryland Beauty block. I added a couple of the blocks from BOM and 50 Fab Stars to the camping theme side. Piecing done on the Eldredge Two Spools, decorative stitch quilting on the blocks done on Singer 224, straight stitch quilting done on Davis NVF, binding attachment done Davis NVF, and decorative stitching to finish off binding done on Necchi Supernova Ultra.

Neat! I like the daisies scattered about. Looks like you have a little bit of paradise right there.

Vintage,
Love the quilt - so bright and cheery. Perfect for a hammock as long as it's in the shade. :)

Wonderful! You've created the most welcoming place to swing and laze away a summer day! Love your blocks!

Crossstitcher, your granddaughters should be proud of themselves. The quilts turned out great.

Vintagemotif, what a lovely setting for a nap. The quilt is perfect for that spot. I like the colors and the decorative stitching.
