Wonder of wonders is that it fit and sews.

Mr. Fed looked quite cheeky! Made me laugh. It's like a Halloween costume party. Hmm....getting some ideas here...

Glenn

Glen we need to start a post for decorated machines. I think it would be a lot of fun. Maybe let them express themselves in a new way. Potato Head loved trading noses with Ms Federal. Maybe Potato Head would like to see what some friends look like.

I love it! And your machines look mighty cute all dressed up! :)

It sounds like we are getting shut down for a while tomorrow. I had a bit of fun dressing them up. Maybe I'll do some more tomorrow. Next time I put one on CL I'm thinking I'm going to dress it up a bit. CL won't be the same will it??? That gray one looks like a machine for a boy to learn on doesn't it. It sews rather gutsy too - gotta love it.

They are oh so cute all dressed up. Thanks for sharing them.

I have a question about my Singer 401A. Is there a darning foot I can get for this machine? I have some extra feet that came with it but nothing that looks like it might be a darning foot. As an experiment, I tried to FMQ with the regular presser foot but it didn't work. The foot had too much pressure. Would love some help. Thanks so much.

That's great. I will go look now. Thank you so much for the information.

ETA: Found exactly what I was looking for. Ordered the darning foot. Thanks again.

Has anyone seen a Singer 411g around for sale? That is the next machine I want to acquire. It must have the treadle hand wheel as I would like to be able to treadle it. The one currently for sale on e-bay doesn't. I will work on getting the treadle case after I get the machine.

A 411g is basically a 401a that can also do chain stitch and be treadled.
