I guess what I will have to do is tell people to change the number of posts per page to whatever I have in order to see a photo!

could we not go to the post # located in the upper right hand corner of the post?

[QUOTE=Derla;4627307]There are way too many posts on this forum to read them all, so this may be a repeat. My husband bought me a vintage sewing machine at an estate sale for $30. It is a Necchi, made in Italy, Model BU. She really purrs like a kitten. There are lots of different feet for it - but no manual. I've not been able to check the stitch as I'm not sure how to thread it. From the little I've been able to find on the Internet about it -- I'm thinking he did good. But it seems there are 3 different kinds of Model BU and I'd like to get it ID'd accurately so I can look for the right manual. Can anyone give me a link to get it ID'd, please?[/QUOT

There is a Yahoo group you can join called Necchi sewing Machine club. It is a group for Italian made Necchis. They have manuals you can download and lots of information. You can get any questions answered there to. It also has a good file on cleaning the insides of the machine.
You got a good buy. I got a Necchi BU Mira and cabinet on Freecycle. Cleaned it all up and rewired it. I love it.

Ok I just "replied with quote" message number 27092 and the quote didn't have the little rectangle around it. What did I do wrong?

There is a Singer 237 at my local thrift shop ... for $27... I can't buy it because of "crowding" in my house. :-(

Janis and Iris, great idea about the numbered posts! I hadn't noticed that the posts are numbered. Now I will have to spend some time to find my old photo's here and jot down their post number! And actually, Charlee said that if you do a 'search' of your user name your posts will come up, which will make it easy to find the photos!

Monica, I usually do keep the photo's on my desktop, but some of the first ones are not on this computer as we upgraded our computer.

Oh well this will be a rainy day project! And I agree that I liked the color and look of the old system better. This white is very tiring to the eyes!

VERY RARE HARRIS "S" HAND CRANK SEWING MACHINE FROM ABOUT 1930 WITH ART DECO STYLIZED ROSES. Made probably by Haid & Neu for Harris which was a large London distributor. This machine dates to around 1930, the stylized roses are typical of the Art Deco style. Note the ruler inlaid in the base and the recessed hand crank, with the bobbin winder being directly driven from the gear wheel. Includes a lovely locking case with key. The base is cracked, so this may not be usable as is, but it is lovely and makes a wonderful display piece

Tinabug, I'd get that machine for just a display!

.

FYI: You can also click on the upper right hand post number and it brings that post to the top of the page. If you copy the "new" web address from your broswer address bar, then you can use that to link to a specific post that should work regardless of what others' settings are. (I've just tried this on my computer, not totally sure, but it should work if someone else wants to confirm!) :)

Thankyou - without the PM from you I would never have seen this message. I will try to find the Yahoo group you mentioned as I do have a lot of questions. I have no idea if I'm using this new forum the right way -- hope I don't really goof up the whole system.
