Is it possible to turn a Singer 15-91 (potted motor) into a treadle? If so HOW?

This person, who isn't Cathy or Pat, stated that they have done it. |

I have done it. Take the hand wheel off. You will see two large screws that were hidden behind the hand wheel. Remove these screws. The whole motor/ bobbin-winder assembly will then slide off in one piece. You may have to rocks it to get it off. All you have to do it to now slide on a spoked hand wheel. The only problem in this is you don't have a bobbinwinder. But after market combo of bobbin winder and hand wheel cover/ hood is available. I usually have these and they are inexpensive. Here is a picture of one.

Laura, Why did you use Martha Stewart paint on the HC? Does that paint finish have a similar look to that blue machine that you had at the Turlock TOGA? Or does it have more of a machine/car paint look?
When I get the hand wheel drilled i will figure out how to post a picture. Laura |
My red head that I made into a hand crank had a mouse nest in it...ewwwwww....little fossilized mouse, too. That one cleaned up pretty good, though, and is the machine i make dolls on. Hand cranks are the best for all those little fiddly pieces. Laura

I loaded 25 for sale machines to take with me to Ray White's class in my truck - I hope I don't honk anybody off.. LOL These are for extreme make over or parts... I found a pink mouse nest in one of the Kenmore godzilla machines.
Today after work I should check over/clean up the machines I plan to work on. I also started a PDA for the class - I hope I can post on it some time when I am there. |
Charlee the sewing machine cabinet on Atlanta's CL is the same as my VS2 cabinet. The lid is a little different but it is basically the same cabinet. It is very interesting.
