Pit Crews to change out broken belts, low threads and bobbins, and oil the machines....while the "drivers" get out and run around their cabinets once or twice before jumping back into the seat...

Boy!!! would that be a something to see!!! That sounds like a lot of fun. What would you call it?? Could it be televised so we could all see it? :)

It could also be judged on best form, straightest line as well as longest length in 1 minute - point system of some sort.

Miriam, I love that Pfaff! Miriam, just sold it to me! I would be very happy if I only collected Pfaffs! I have stopped looking a Craigslist for a while! I am going to have to thin my heard of machines . . . just keep the ones I really like!

You will love the Two Spools too. Those machines are so much fun to use! That is one machine I will never part with! A little rust should not hurt, besides you know how to remove the rust! I have the Eldredge Two Spools and the National Two Spools, they are exactly the same - except for what is written on them!

As far as the treadle races, I bet I could take you all on! I have been treadling my 15-88 like crazy trying to FM quilt that piece-meal quilt I was making - which is now done! I got a work out - but, a really good work out using that treadle! It is really noisey, though, as it has a HC on it too. That means when I treadle fast the hand crank really clanks - and it is sitting behind the sofa in our great room where DH is watching TV and 'trying' to hear the TV with all the noise I was making!

Now maybe, I will have time to clean the Sterling and post photos of that machine!

Have just been browsing the Smithsonian website....they have a rather interesting catalog for the "post-Singer" Wheeler & Wilson machines...242 pages (images) of this catalog! I tended to think of the W&W machines produced after Singer acquired the company to be rather limited to the 9W....not so!

I am detail cleaning my 66-1 Red Eye, 1921. I am working on the Bobbin winder. I am using the TFSR website as a reference. According to them this machine has the more complicated bobbin winder. Does any one have any advice, Do or Don'ts as far as cleaning this area? The machine has a lot of dried oil, dust, and just gunk. Thank you,

Hubby and I were watching Auctions hunters. Ton and Allen bought a storage unit with a Singer treadle. The head
had a lot of rust on it. They were very excited about it and said it was valueable and they could get at least $400 for it. Not in my neck of the woods. Kathie

I oiled up the Eldridge this afternoon - this one has a place that gets stuck - it will turn then it will stick - lots to clean
